With Season 3 of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty underway, there has been much buzz surrounding a discontinued McDonald’s sauce referenced in the first episode. McDonald’s even gifted Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland a bottle of the sauce packaged up in a special Dimension C-1998M travel case.
One savvy eBay seller was able to seriously cash in on Rick’s obsession with the McSzechuan sauce from 1998, successfully selling it for a whopping $15,000.
TIME reports that author Robert Workman first got his hands on the sauce thanks to a recent contest McDonald’s held at the end of July. He then sold the 64 oz bottle of sauce for $15,000 on eBay, writing that he would use the proceeds to “help out others and pay a few bills.”
According to the eBay listing, 10 percent of the money raised from the sale of the sauce will go to Extra Life, a charity focused on ill and injured children, with another 10 percent going to other causes.
One of the bidders was Canadian DJ Deadmau5, according to a tweet he posted earlier this week.
am i really in the middle of a bidding war over a 64oz bottle of Szechuan Sauce? yes. i am.

Despite the bidding war involving around 100 McSzechuan sauce hopefuls, Workman said there’s been no response or payment from the auction winner.
Update on the auction: no response and no payment yet. Still waiting.
But I may have a back-up plan…
That's all. Enjoying my Friday.
